Phoenix is Arizona’s largest city and is the 5th largest city in the country, and is a popular tourist destination during the spring, fall, and winter. Over the last 20 years a number of breweries have popped up in the Greater Phoenix Area as the craft brew trend has grown. However, the brewery landscape is largely dominated by two craft brewers, Four Peaks Brewing Company and San Tan Brewing Company, who in our opinion serve some of the best craft beer in the region.

Phoenix Beer Guide
Craft beer in Arizona is really starting to take off, especially in the Phoenix area, where craft beer is being offered in many restaurants and bars. Additionally, microbreweries and brewpubs are dotting landscape around town. A little over a decade ago we could have counted the total number of breweries in the Phoenix area on one hand, but that has all changed as the craft beer trend has taken root in the city.
The regional breweries in the Phoenix area are largely focused on the craft beers that appeal to the mainstream craft beer drinker, these are the Pale Ales, Hefeweizens, and lighter Kolsch or Golden brews. However, there is a growing constituency of smaller breweries churning out some niche beers, such as Papago Brewing with their Orange Blossom wheat beer that tastes somewhat like a orange creamsicle. This diversity of brew types that cater to the many different craft beer drinkers’ tastes is what makes the Phoenix Beer scene feel like an up and coming west coast craft beer market that could soon be a trendsetter.
